Spain - Coast to Coast in 16 Days - Itinerary



For years I had in mind a grand trip over the entire Spain, ideally over 3 to 4 weeks, and hit everything from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid and Barcelona to Granada and Cadiz in the far south.

While that has yet to materialize, this year we were suddenly presented with a 2-week window in September. So we turned the northern half of the dream into a 16-day cross-country journey, from Barcelona on the Mediterranean Coast to Santiago de Compostela on the Atlantic, covering a ground distance of 1300 km by high speed rail and buses.

Day10: Madrid - Aranjuez (Train; 1 hr) - Madrid (Train; 1 hr) - Segovia (Bus; 1.5 hr)
Day11: Segovia
Day12: Segovia - Avila (Bus; 1.5 hr) - Salamanca (Bus; 2 hr)
Day13: Salamanca
Day14: Salamanca - Zamora (Bus; 1 hr) - Santiago de Compostela (Train; 3.5 hr)
Day15: Santiago de Compostela
Day16: Departure (SCQ Airport)
